Spring came to north Texas in a violent way last Tuesday with over a dozen tornadoes touching down within 50-60 miles of me! Luckily me and mine are safe and well. Many families were not so lucky, though we were very fortunate that no human lives were lost in those terrifying few hours. But as with every storm, the skies eventually cleared. The sun shone down on the wreckage. The bent flowers lifted their stems…and bloomed. Our state flower, the blue bonnet, is turning the fields blue and spirits are rising along with the tender petals.
In honor of the rebirth spring brings each year, accompanied this time by recovery in Texas, a bunch of authors are having a blog hop! That means lots of prizes and giveaways!
For the complete rules and instructions, read this.
For my part, I’ll be giving away 2 copies of my upcoming novella Mother Nature & Father Time: A love (and hate) story.
And if you’ve read the instructions already, you’ll understand why I’m posting this next sentence…
“However, it’s not long before the inevitable comparisons arise.”
This blog hop will run April 9-18, so you’ve got plenty of time to enter and win. The participating authors are listed below.
So fun! Question, though–what sentence # is yours?
Line 6!
So glad the tornadoes kept their distance! Am enjoying this blog hop a LOT. Good luck, and I hope it brings in lots of new followers.
Good morning! I am sorry about all the tornados. They are nasty things. We have several a year here as well. I have seen whole neighborhoods wiped out. It is the craziest thing to see. I will keep ya’ll in my prayers.

Those Texas tornadoes were scary just to see on television. I can’t imagine actually experiencing them. I’m glad that the Blue Bonnets are blooming to remind everyone of hope and spring and all things good!
Nice photo of those beautiful flowers. Thanks for having the contest.
Your book sounds really good and I love the cover.
Hi Vickie, So glad you’re okay. I heard the growing tornado count for that storm is up to 17. It certainly was scary at the time. Stay dry through this week’s storms. Cheers, Ashley
my mom, now 85, grew up in Texas heartland on a farm and every spring waxes poetic about the bluebelles. She has gone back a few times for the festivals, but as she is blind now, sees them in all their glory with her mind’s eye., Please enter me in your Authors in Bloom contest.

Hi! glad to be hopping in your site! I read the instructions for the drawing but I’d like to know what line # is your sentence? Thanks!
Hi Lorelei,
I’m line #6! Thanks for stopping by.
Vickie
Thanks!
Thanks for the giveaway! Wonderful to discover new authors this way.
Your book looks good. Look forward to reading it. Good to hear your okay even though I know the tornados were a few days ago now. Please enter me in the contest.
Having fun participating! The pictures and video of the tornados were awful. Mother nature can be devastating but at the same time stunning. Love the picture of the bluebonnets!
I live in Iowa so I know about tornados. Only been to texs once but love it as Texas is home to my favorite football team the COWBOYS.
La Nina did make Texas NOT the best place to be this winter and spring but all should be returning to normal now. Glad you are ok!
Sorry about the tornadoes. They are nasty things. You stay safe! Thank you for the awesome hop and giveaway! 😉
